Hyper Beam (Japanese: はかいこうせんDestruction Beam) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move.
Hyper Beam deals damage. If the move succeeds, the user has to recharge the next turn.
If the move fails because the user flinches, is fully paralyzed, hits itself in confusion, had the move sealed with Imprison or Disabled earlier that turn, is put to sleep earlier that turn, or the target avoids or protects itself from the attack, or the target is immune to the attack, there is no recharging turn.
A severely damaging move that makes the user rest on the next turn.
