Baitmaster is a dual-type Water/Fairy Pokémon.

It evolves from Tulure when exposed to a Sun Stone. It is one of Troubait's final forms, the other being Monstrap.

Biology

Baitmaster's body is light blue. It has one set of green fins adjacent to its eyes and more fins along its underside up until the tail. The tail has a red and white striped appendage which is affixed with an orange, dripping substance, presumably bait, which Baitmaster also has on its head.

Baitmaster can be found in any body of fresh water, including ponds, lakes, and rivers.

Pokédex Entry

Trivia

  • Baitmaster's Pokedex entry is a reference to this variation of the "This is bait" meme, which itself is a reference to the visual novel Fate/Stay Night.
  • It has a base attack of 69. Nice.

Design Origin

Like the rest of its evolutionary family, Baitmaster is based off of the "This is bait" meme. It may also be inspired by various species of anglerfish and eel, as well as the four-eyed fish. The hook on its tail resembles that of a candy cane along with having caramel as bait.

Name Origin

Baitmaster is a combination of bait and master. Its name is also a play on the word masturbate.
