Trivia Edit

  • Baitmaster's Pokedex entry is a reference to this variation of the "This is bait" meme, which itself is a reference to the visual novel Fate/Stay Night.

Design Origin Edit

Like the rest of its evolutionary family, Baitmaster is based off of the "This is bait" meme. It may also be inspired by various species of anglerfish and eel, as well as the four-eyed fish.

Name Origin Edit

Baitmaster is a combination of bait and master. Its name is also a play on the word masturbate.
